Xtreme Couture head coach Eric Nicksick confirmed the news of coach Tim Lane’s passing on Instagram, which left the MMA community in grief.

Lane (49) was found dead in the Mount Charleston area following a manhunt, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The cause of the former kickboxing champion’s death is still unknown.

UFC commentator Jon Anik, Belal Muhammad, Cody Garbrandt, Aljamain Sterling, Dominick Reyes, Cynthia Calvillo, Joanne Wood, and many others commented on his post to express their commiseration.

UFC women’s bantamweight, Jessica Rose Clark tweeted, “RIP Coach Tim. I was fortunate enough to interact with him multiple times at XC, and he always had a smile and so much enthusiasm every day.”

Even back in 2017, one of the Xtreme Couture coaches, Robert Follis, passed away.

A coach’s role in MMA is very crucial; it was on full display during the main event of UFC 270. After the fourth round, the fight was 2-2. Coach Nicksick is one of the best coaches around the world, and he has proved it with many of his fighters’ success. He won the MMA Junkie coach of the year award in 2020.
