UFC 282 saw British fighter Darren Till submitted by South African fighter Dricus Du Plessis. The fight ended in the third round when Du Plessis choked Darren Till. Following the fight, rumors of Darren Till leaving the UFC went ripe. Chael Sonnen further confirmed that Darren Till will not fight in the UFC anymore. Darren Till was coming from a three-fight losing streak. The loss to Du Plessis seems to have been too heavy and UFC 282 may be the last UFC fans have seen of him. Darren Till had a career record that read 18-5-1. He was trained in Muay Thai.

Darren Till is a fighter from Liverpool who used to get into altercations from a young age. He started training in Muay Thai at a very young age. In August 2012, he was stabbed twice in an altercation that happened at a party and the doctors claimed that he was lucky to survive.

Chael Sonnen talked about Darren Till retiring on his YouTube Channel. He said, “I don’t have it confirmed, but it’s a rumor that I believe I believe it this was Darren’s last fight of his UFC contract, so as of this moment Darren is no longer in the UFC .” 

Chael Sonnen almost confirms Darren Till going out of the UFC

The number 10 ranked Middleweight fighter came to UFC 282 looking to end his losing streak, but couldn’t. Dricus Du Plessis submitted him to the third round. Darren Till looked good in his last fight and Chael Sonnen appreciated it. At some point, he looked ready to grab a win and a new lease of life for his UFC career. It, however, didn’t unfold as planned for him.

Dana White underlines where Darren Till lost the fight

UFC president Dana White said that Darren Till lost the match before he was submitted. In the post-fight press interaction, Dana White commented that it was the slam from Du Plessis that took away the wind from Till’s lungs. He said that the sound of that slam was good enough to understand the impact it might have had. Dana also said that Till’s stock didn’t take a fall at all and it was a good fight.
