Joe Rogan is a great admirer of Alex Pereira. The JRE podcast host had spoken highly of ‘Poatan’ on his platform even before the Brazilian joined the UFC, going on and on about his immense power. ‘Poatan’ is Portuguese for ‘Hands of Stone’, and his power was on full display in his last fight against Jiri Prochazkawhom he defeated to win the vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 295 last month.

This victory made Pereira among a select few fighters to have won titles in two weight divisions. ‘Poatan’ had defeated his nemesis Israel Adesanya at UFC 281 to become the UFC middleweight champion before losing it in their UFC 287 rematch. Pereira is also a former (and only) two-division champion in his kickboxing promotion, Glory. And Pereira is seemingly on a victory tour since becoming champion and will reportedly appear on the most popular podcast in the world.

“Joe loves Alex, should be a fun pod”
