Bellator fighter Brennan Ward has been through the wringer, facing his demons head-on with his drug addiction issues. Many other stars in the past have talked about it, UFC legend Mark Coleman being one of them. And this life-threatening habit forced Ward to step away from MMA for a gut-wrenching five years.

But, in 2022, he made a comeback with a bang and proved that he was a fighter both inside and outside of the Bellator octagon. With a chip on his shoulder and a heart of gold, Ward has successfully battled his addiction and is now on a mission to help others do the same.

He wants to be a beacon of hope for the millions struggling with drug addiction, letting them know they’re not alone and that there’s a way out of the dark hole they find themselves in. And after his recent knockout win at Bellator 290, the 34-year-old used the post-fight press conference as a platform to spread his message of hope.

At Bellator 290, Brennan Ward took the octagon by storm, delivering a spectacular second-round TKO victory over Sabah Homasi with a brutal head kick and a flurry of punches. But it was in the post-fight press conference where he truly shined.

When asked about what others battling drug addiction can do to overcome their struggles, as he did, Brennan stepped up to the plate and offered not just words of wisdom but a helping hand as well.

Lending a hand against the drug addiction

Brennan Ward advises those struggling with drug addiction to take the step to detox to get the help they need. He acknowledges that while going to detox is the easy part, the real challenge is getting through the duration of it later. He emphasizes that the process is incredibly hard, but encourages those struggling to not give up.
