“MMA, I’ll Never Forget You!” – ‘Retirement’ Frenzy Sets in as Conor McGregor Posts Farewell Message Ahead of Acting Debut With Jake Gyllenhaal

It looks like Conor McGregor won’t return to the UFC. After suffering a loss and a broken leg at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier, McGregor seemed determined to get back into the Octagon. Fans, too, were waiting for his return. However, his recent tweet has alerted fans with the news of his retirement.

‘The Notorious’ took to Twitter to write, “Mma, I’ll never forget you! Easy work.”

The Irish MMA fighter has previously announced his retirement a few times. Nevertheless, he always made a return.

A fan wasn’t happy with the news.

Another social media user shared a picture of McGregor’s recent losses.

McGregor previously shared his love for boxing. Hence, a fan wondered if another boxing match with Floyd Mayweather was coming up.

However, some UFC fans didn’t seem to care about his retirement.

Another fan speculated the fighter would be back after completing his Hollywood project. He is to make his acting debut alongside actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

The fighter has received acting offers in the past too. However, owing to his flourishing UFC career, they did not materialize.

However, after the tweet sparked a debate about his retirement, ‘Mystic Mac’ wrote more. In another tweet, he penned, I’ll be back! For the sake of humankind! I must return! Happy birthday my man, @Schwarzenegger! Hope you and H are proud of my recovery / work and my latest move on the board. Fun times ahead, bring it”.

Thus, McGregor is working on his complete recovery and fans are on their toes to see what he does next.

Will fans see Conor McGregor in the boxing ring?

In an interview a few months ago, McGregor verbalized his love for boxing. But he also intended to get back to the Octagon.

However, UFC President Dana White shut down rumors of McGregor’s return to the ring. Instead, he made it clear that ‘The Notorious’ would be back to the UFC soon.
