Chaos at the UFC Fight Night 221 stare-downs
As most UFC fans know that UFC Fight Night 221 is all set to enchant the fans on 11 March 2023. The pre-bout weigh-ins and stare-downs for the event gave the fans a clear indication of the fact that things might get hated inside the Octagon as well. All the other fighters of the card had relatively quiet stare-downs except the main eventers, Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili.
The Georgian, Dvalishvili, took the stage for the stare-down initially. He appeared to be fully charged for the bout as he also gave out a roar. He also showcased some unsaid hostility toward his opponent Yan while he was taking the stage. The Russian was also quick to spot the hostility and pushed off his opponent Dvalishvili during the stare-down.
‘The Machine’ also made an attempt to have a go at ‘No Mercy’ but he was stopped by the UFC security. The rest of the event was quite a usual one, with no such other chaotic instances.
Dana White saw a similar fate for Francis Ngannou alike Ciryl Gane if he faced Jones Jones
Recently, the UFC supremo, Dana White, revealed his thoughts about how the coveted failed matchup between Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou would have unfolded. White was interviewed by TMZ Sports, where he stated that he wouldn’t be rooting to make that fight anymore.
The 53-year-old revealed that he had almost tried for two years to work out a bout between the current UFC Heavyweight champion, Jones, and the former Heavyweight champion Ngannou. But a failure even after so much effort has left White with no interest in that matchup.
However, he gave out his opinion on how the bout would have unfolded if it actually happened. The UFC boss stated, “I think that’s exactly the way the fight would’ve gone if [Ngannou] was in there, too.”
White had formed his opinion based on the fact that Ngannou had a pretty close bout with Gane at the UFC 270. Although ‘The Predator’ managed to win it, a lot along with White agreed that it could have gone either way. But Jones finished off the same Gane within the first round without any major efforts.
