Jon Jones claimed the UFC Heavyweight title sealing the GOAT debate

The UFC had been pushing the ‘G.O.A.T’ narrative for Jon Jones right from the buildup of UFC 285. But a lot of fans were in doubt about how the 3-year layoff from the octagon might affect Jones’ performance. But, as it turned out, there was absolutely no sign of ring rust seen in ‘Bones’.

Jones entered the octagon with a massive pop from the crowd. As soon as the bout started, most viewers got to know that ‘Bones’ was back in full force. He showcased the same fight style he was known for. ‘Bones’ literally obliterated his opponent, Ciryl Gane, as he pressurized him to the cage fencing and finished him with a guillotine choke.

Gane wasn’t able to land even a single strike despite his highly touted striking skills. Jones wrapped up the fight within just 3 mins of the initial round, announcing his grand return to the Octagon. Will you also label Jon Jones as the GOAT now?

UFC stars give their opinion on Valentina Shevchenko getting submitted by Alexa Grosso

While it was all smiles for ‘Bones’, ‘Bullet’ didn’t have a favorable outing at the UFC 285. She lost her UFC Flyweight championship after getting submitted by her opponent Alexa Grosso. The Mexican, Grasso, presented a tough challenge to her in every round of the bout. Shevchenko also might have managed to win a few of them. But the fourth round proved to be fatal for her as she got submitted by Grasso in the last minute of the penultimate round of the bout.

A lot of fans might agree that ‘Bullet’ looked a bit off-color inside the octagon in her last outing. This shocking upset also drew reactions from noted MMA world personalities. The former UFC Heavyweight kingpin, Francis Ngannou, tweeted, “What a transition for Alexa Grasso to dethrone the Champ! #AndNew”

However, the UFC Bantamweight champion, Aljamain Sterling, looked a bit annoyed with Shevcheko’s fight style. He tweeted, Stop throwing spinning s**t #UFC285″.

A lot of fans might now say that Sterling was actually right regarding his opinion since Shevchenko’s technique didn’t work out.

Jake Gyllenhaal made his way into the UFC Octagon

The Hollywood star, Jake Gyllenhaal, had been the center of a lot of MMA world discussions of late. Gyllenhaal’s connection with McGregor for their upcoming movie ‘The Road House’ also had him visiting both the UFC 285 pre-bout weigh-ins and fight night. To the surprise of the UFC 285 crowd, the UFC supremo, Dana White, also had Gyllenhaal making his way into the octagon to shoot a scene from his movie.

Gyllenhaal took the Octagon in a fighter’s attire and an entire staged fight callout process was filmed, which also involved the coveted UFC ring announcer, Bruce Buffer.

After watching the scenes being filmed, it would be clear to most that Gyllenhaal will be showcased as an MMA fighter.
