However, it all turned out to be a disastrous night for them, as the former UFC Strawweight Champion couldn’t even last for a couple of minutes against her Canadian opponent. Robertson submitted Namajunas via a rear naked choke just 65 seconds into the fight.

The same event of Fury Professional Grappling also showcased Namajunas‘ husband, Pat Barry, take on Jon Pellot, but it was a disappointing night for the couple as he too lost out to his opponent.

Paddy Pimblett silenced an Instagram troll after a sparring session with him

Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett‘s affinity towards social media is a known fact. And probably every web user knows that the internet is full of ridiculous trollers who are there to mock basically anything and everything on the web. The Liverpudlian also came through a similar person; who he said, “was talking s**t for about the past week or two”.

The troll agreed to a sparring session with Pimblett where he was shown his true position by ‘The Baddy’. The troll couldn’t even last for the required 2 rounds, which he was asked to.

Paddy Pimblett had some respect for the troll due to his show of character and standing by his words. He also awarded the troll £50 out of the promised £500, despite losing the challenge.

Jan Blachowicz exhibited discontent about the opinion of Joe Rogan on their fight

The MMA world witnessed a rare spectacle at the UFC 282. The main event of the night featuring Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev for the UFC Light Heavyweight title ended up in a split decision draw. Blachowicz had asked Joe Rogan about his opinion about the victor of this bout prior to the post-fight interview. The UFC color commentator reportedly presented his views against Blachowicz.

Rogan implied that, in his opinion, Blachowicz had lost the fight. But the Polish native took his time to view the fight and expressed unhappiness in Rogan‘s opinion about his fight.

Blachowicz criticized the ‘JRE’ host. He stated, “He did a mistake that he say something like this to me after the fight. Because everybody who thinks that I lost the fight, watch only the last round. For me, a draw is a fair decision.” Blachowicz also went a step further and opinionated, “I think that I was closer to winning the fight than Ankalaev”.

The coveted scrap between Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson in 2002 was when I realized the passion for combat sports within my family. My interest in combat sports began watching scripted pro wrestling shows. It was my father who directed me towards combat sports and it wasn’t until the late 2010s that I discovered the world of MMA and the UFC. Being an ardent fan of the UFC (and Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier), I was always looking to have conversations about the same with others. But to my disappointment, I hardly found any followers of the sports to interact with. So I took it upon myself to do my part in popularizing the thrill and the agony behind the purest form of unarmed combat. At EssentiallySports, I try to bring the readers closer to the athletes and focus my coverage on exploring the human side of these martial artists. I’m a musician during my time free from reporting MMA. I operate as the lead vocalist of a rock band that aims to make their mark among the audiences with their original alternative-hard rock songs.
