The MMA world witnessed the happening of two major fight events in the last few hours. There were certain other noted advancements as well. From shocking fight results to startling announcements, we may say that the world of MMA maintained its rapidly changing nature in the last few hours as well. The UFC Vegas 68 proved to be an enthralling event for the fans, which had a lot of startling results. The highly touted Derrick Lewis couldn’t end the main event the way he wanted. Moreover, Bellator 290 also followed up with lots of entertaining fights and turnovers. Lastly, the UFC star Conor McGregor and the noted lightweight Michael Chandler have both been elected as coaches for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter.

The victors and the washouts of UFC Vegas 68

A heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Serghei Spivac headlined the UFC Vegas 68. The card also comprised several enthralling matches, most of which delivered up to their hype. Apart from the fight of Doo Ho Choi vs. Kyle Nelson, which was criticized by the fans due to the ambiguous post-bout decision, the coveted main event and other fights mostly lived up to their expectations.

The 37-year-old ‘Black Beast’, Derrick Lewis, failed to showcase his prowess inside the Octagon. His opponent, the Moldovan, Serghei Spivac, put on a brutal show of dominance in the main event of the night. Spivac mauled his opponent Lewis for 3 minutes of the initial round and then submitted him as well with an arm triangle shortly.

Bellator 290: Who won and who lost?

‘The Last Emperor’, Fedor Emelianenko couldn’t manage to pull off a victory against his Bellator 290 opponent, Bader. He was TKO-ed by his American adversary, that too, in the first round itself. The Bellator 290 also packed a special surprise as it had arranged a post-final bout felicitation for the legendary MMA icon.

The noted MMA stars, Mark Coleman, Dan Henderson, Josh Barnett, Randy Couture, Royce Gracie, Matt Hughes, “Rampage” Jackson, and Frank Shamrock joined his farewell felicitation.

 

‘The Last Emperor’ gave his final post-fight interview stating, “On one side, I’m sad, of course, that I didn’t deliver in the fight like I wanted to”. But, he also mentioned, “I’m very happy. I’m so happy to see all the fighters that are here to support me. Thank you so much.”

However, a lot of the other fights on the Bellator 290 card proved to be really exciting ones for the fans. Here is a list of the results of all the Bellator 290 fights.

Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler to coach in TUF 31

Loud rumors of the coveted Conor McGregor‘s return to the Octagon this year are now being heard in the MMA world. But recently, the UFC supremo, Dana White, revealed that the Irishman will appear in a different role prior to his octagon return. The UFC boss announced that McGregor was selected as a coach for the noted MMA-based TV reality series, ‘The Ultimate Fighter’.

The noted UFC lightweight, Michael Chandler, had previously spoken about his desire to fight ‘The Notorious’. There also have been rumors that the UFC has started taking this matchup seriously.

But Chandler recently received an opportunity to face off against McGregor before their bout. The UFC boss also announced that ‘Iron’ Chandler will also be joining TUF 31 as a coach. Fans will be eager to watch who wins this bout of strategies and at the same time prepares others prior to their actual showdown.
