Is Michael Chandler done waiting for Conor McGregor?

Michael Chandler was slated to fight Conor McGregor this year. However, there has been no update on that front as of now. As such, the 5th-ranked lightweight issued a challenge to Nate Diaz, who’s also might be looking to make a return at UFC 300.

“Hold tight. I’d love to crack your jaw. Things are still unclear with that former fighter who is masquerading as a real fighter,” wrote Michael Chandler in a response to Nate Diaz showing his interest in a UFC return. It looked like a challenge out of desperation from ‘Iron’.

Chael Sonnen doesn’t agree with Joe Rogan

Joe Rogan recently made a bold claim about MMA fighters who aren’t in the UFC. He claimed that the fighters in other promotions are wasting their careers primarily because nobody watches their fights. This led to MMA legend Chael Sonnen making a case for his disagreement with what the UFC commentator-cum-podcast host had to say.

Chael Sonnen claimed that his prowess in the sport of mixed martial arts should not be compared to how many people want to watch him fight. Moreover, the former UFC title challenger also mentioned that fighting in a smaller arena with fewer people reduces the chance of feeling disappointed and down if fighters fail to make an impact in their bouts. We will have to wait and see if Joe Rogan reacts to Sonnen’s reply in the not-so-distant future.

Islam Makhachev and Sean O’Malley take jibes at each other

After Leon Edwards defeated Colby Covington at UFC 296, lightweight champion Islam Makhachev mentioned that he wanted to fight ‘Rocky’ next. He is in search of the double champion status, something that his mentor Khabib Nurmagomedov did not achieve. However, bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley believes that Makhachev will not be able to get past Edwards.

“Leon beats Islam,” tweeted Sean O’Malley. In response, Islam Makhachev took a jibe at the bantamweight kingpin. The lightweight champion claimed that his mentor’s cousin, Umar Nurmagomedov, would easily defeat ‘Suga’ if they ever fought each other. He said, “Umar beats Suga.” It remains to be seen if O’Malley will clap back at Makhachev with another social media post.
