We will start today with Conor McGregor demanding his own custom shorts from the UFC. Then we will shift our focus to Dana White, who gave his pick on the greatest UFC featherweight fighter. Finally, we will sum up the daily news compilation with Alex Pereira, who broke Francis Ngannou‘s record.

Conor McGregor wants his UFC custom shorts too?

UFC 300 will be a monumental event for Dana White’s promotion as the UFC’s outfitting partner Venum released a few custom shorts for four fighters on the April 13 card. Alex Pereira, Zhang Weili, Max Holloway and Justin Gaethje received custom shorts for their upcoming fights this weekend. The shorts they received catered to their background and their roots. Conor McGregor seems to have come across the news of these new kits by Venum and demanded a custom one for himself.

Given that the shorts Alex Pereira, Zhang Weili, Max Holloway, and Justin Gaethje received depicted their cultures and their roots, Conor McGregor has his own idea of what his custom shorts should look like. The Irishman wants his shorts to have the US dollar bill printed on them, signifying the money he has made in his fighting career and his business ventures. “U.S Dollar bill shorts for me,” McGregor stated. It remains to be seen if Dana White obliges to give the former double champion what he desires.

Dana White picks Max Holloway as featherweight GOAT

Alexander Volkanovski reigned supreme as the featherweight champion from May 2019 all the way up to February 2024. During his time in the UFC, ‘The Great’ seemed immovable in the 145-pound division, defeating everyone except Ilia Topuria, who recently defeated him to win the featherweight title. However, Volkanovski’s accomplishments did not seem enough for Dana White to consider him to be the greatest of all time. Rather, the UFC CEO picked the Aussie star’s former rival Max Holloway to be the greatest featherweight fighter the UFC has ever seen.

“Max Holloway, always a big fan favorite. Probably the greatest featherweight of all time, going up against Gaethje, who is a human highlight reel,” Dana White told Stephen A. Smith during a recent interview on ESPN. It was surprising to see him pick Max Holloway, who lost thrice to Alexander Volkanovksi and has never been able to defeat the former champion. But it is safe to say that ‘Blessed’ has been fighting for a long time and has become one of the most beloved UFC fighters on the roster.

For a while now, Francis Ngannou was considered the hardest striker in the MMA sphere. When he punched the PowerKube machine back in 2018, the Cameroonian-French fighter packed with power as he scored 129,161 units on the machine. Many tried and failed to surpass Ngannou, until the light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira, tried his hands at the PowerKube machine at the UFC PI and overtook the former heavyweight champion’s record.

Alex Pereira is known for having a lot of power in his punches as well. Hence, he not only went past Francis Ngannou’s record, but he outclassed him by scoring 191,796 units, which was 62,635 units more than ‘The Predator’. It remains to be seen if Pereira’s power will help him earn another knockout win at UFC 300.
