Israel Adesanya revealed how he convinced Dana White to give Sean Strickland a title shot

South African star Dricus du Plessis was slated to face Israel Adesanya for the middleweight champion after his win over Robert Whittaker at UFC 290. However, an injury halted the plan for a fight. Meanwhile, rumors started spreading that claimed that Sean Strickland was next in line to fight Israel Adesanya. However, the UFC didn’t want to go through it initially. Now, ‘The Last Stylebender’ has opened up about the behind-the-scenes conversation he had with Dana White that made the promotion book the fight for UFC 293.

Adesanya recently appeared for an interview with the media and spilled the beans about how he got the fight sanctioned. He said, “A lot [of convincing], a lot. Like I said, he’s an idiot, and the UFC doesn’t want him embarrassing the company.” Moreover, the two-time champion also stated that Sean Strickland should be thankful to him for making the fight happen.
