Conor McGregor tries his luck in soccer

The former UFC dual champion emphasized his intention to return to combat sports after a three-year hiatus to face Logan Paul. However, it seems that the fight may never materialize, as Logan has clarified that he will not take on any side gigs and will instead focus solely on his WWE career. It appears that Conor McGregor‘s comeback to combat sports is delayed, however, that doesn’t mean that he stays away from other sports.

In his latest escapade, the former champ has embraced the soccer field to showcase his skills in the sport. McGregor wore the number 11 shirt for the Black Forge FC and played against Harding FC on Saturday. The 36-year-old athlete appeared on the lineup on the left wing and the game ended as a 1-1. Well, the UCFL match did end up in a draw but it won’t budge McGregor’s side, who is sitting comfortably in the second spot.

Well, for those who don’t know, the former dual-weight champion wanted to play soccer in his early days before he embraced MMA. McGregor played soccer for Lourdes Celtic’s youth team, his local football club in Dublin. Now that we know about Conor McGregor’s soccer history, let’s have a look at his rival, Khabib Nurmagomedov, who appeared to have been escorted out of an airplane.

Khabib Nurmagomedov humiliated on American airplane

Imagine booking a specific seat on a flight, only for a flight attendant to ask you to change seats. It would undoubtedly be a frustrating situation—and that’s exactly what happened to former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. The Dagestani had to be escorted out of an American Airlines flight en route to Los Angeles after a confrontation with the flight attendant.

When Nurmagomedov was seated in his designated seat, a flight attendant came up to him to ask, “We cannot allow you to sit in the exit row or you’re gonna have to get off this plane,” ‘Eagle’ was confused and said, “It’s not fair.” He also stated that he had fully cooperated with the flight crew during the entire boarding process. He further added, “When I was in check-in, they asked me do I know English… and I say yes. Then why you guys do this?”

However, the attendant appeared to not be in the mood to entertain the argument any further as she decided it would be better for her to call the man in charge, “I am not going to do this back and forth. I’ll go call a supervisor. You can either take a different seat or we can go ahead ask for you off the plane.”

Later, he had to be escorted out of the plane and his friend followed him. This is quite embarrassing considering the fact that the former champ is one of the biggest sports personalities in the world. Regardless, let us move on to Dana White, who appears to be finally taking steps ahead for boxing.

Dana White steps up his game in boxing

Last year, UFC head honcho Dana White announced his intention to step into the boxing scene, with the first major announcement scheduled for January this year. It seems the UFC CEO is gearing up to do something phenomenal. Last September, White had his first boxing event as a promoter when his boxer Callum Walsh fought in 3Arena in Dublin, Ireland and now Turki Alalshikh is looking to make a high-level boxing promotion in partnership with the UFC CEO Dana White.

According to the NY Times, Alalshikh may be in advanced talks with TKO Holdings, the parent company of both UFC and WWE, to create a new boxing league that would have all the rising and star boxers under one banner. According to the reports, Alalshikh is planning to make the new entity exactly like UFC, so that it would be easier for the common folks to navigate the championships. Well, the parent company is yet to make an official announcement about this but one thing is certain and that’s the fact that boxing is about to be changed forever.
