Former bantamweight champion Petr Yan emerged victorious at UFC 298. He ended his losing streak after securing a unanimous decision win over Song Yadong, which was also his first victory in over two years. Following the fight, Yan appeared in an interview, where he revealed that his next goal was to fight for the title.

However, when the interviewer asked him to say what he wanted to tell Dana White about a potential title fight, Petr Yan revealed that Dana White failed to live up to the promises he made to ‘No Mercy’ on a couple of occasions. “Dana, you know, two times brother, you did bullsh*t for me… My two sons in home tell me, ‘Papa, you have to win normal title,” said the former champion. It remains to be seen where Yan’s win over Yadong leads him in the months to come.

Shavkat Rakhmonov and Islam Makhachev reveal their future plans

Dustin Poirier and Jack Della Maddalena defeated their respective opponents at UFC 299. Both of them earned knockout finishes in one of the best PPV events ever. Moreover, their wins led both Poirier and Maddalena to call out a couple of fighters. Firstly, ‘The Diamond’ did not immediately talk about his next fight following his win over Benoit Saint-Denis. He later took to Twitter (X) and called out lightweight champion Islam Makhachev.

“Islam in June,” tweeted Dustin Poirier. Despite talks about a potential welterweight move, it seems like he still has some business left in the 155-pound division. Meanwhile, it did not take too long for Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protégé to respond as he replied to ‘The Diamond’s challenge. Islam Makhachev seemingly agreed to fight Poirier in the Summer. Meanwhile, Jack Della Maddalena called out a top title contender instead of the champion.

Jack Della Maddalena wants to fight a title eliminator fight against the 18-0 undefeated star Shavkat Rakhmonov. The Aussie star even claimed to be a bit more dangerous than the Kazakhstan native. Rakhmonov was impressed with the fallout by Maddalena but predicted a bad end to their fight for him in a bold response.

“I respect your courage and confidence Jack, but you will face the same fate as my previous opponents,” wrote Shavkat Rakhmonov. It will be interesting to see if Dana White considers putting up these fights in the coming months as we prepare to see how the historic UFC 300 event will turn out after the success of UFC 299.

While praising Marlon Vera for putting up a great fight, Sean O’Malley wrote, “Another successful business trip. The f***in Dorian has a hell of chin.” ‘Suga’ has now asked Dana White for a fight against featherweight champion Ilia Topuria in Spain. However, we are yet to get any of the UFC CEO’s thoughts on this proposition.
