PFL has been on the rise ever since Francis Ngannou joined the promotion in May 2023. After recently signing Cedric Doumbe, who grabbed an electric KO win on his debut, they’ve added another former UFC star in the form of Derek Brunson. The news was recently dropped by ‘The One’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, during an interview with ‘The Schmo’.

Ali Abdelaziz also stated that Derek Brunson has already planned his next move. The 39-year-old MMA fighter is looking forward to competing as a light heavyweight in the PFL. Moreover, he is planning to enter the promotion’s $1 million tournament which will take place next year.

Colby Covington fires shots at Matt Brown

During a recent edition of ‘The Fighter vs The Writer’ podcast, UFC veteran Matt Brown weighed in on Colby Covington’s MMA future. Given that ‘Chaos’ mentioned that he intends to continue fighting even after UFC 296, ‘The Immortal’ believes that it may not happen. He said, “He just doesn’t come across that kind of guy to me [because] he hasn’t fought for two years. He’s not built like me, where I love fighting, and if I lost 10 in a row, I’d still want to fight.” However, Covington did not take those words too kindly.

In classic Colby Covington fashion, the welterweight contender lashed out at Brown. In a recent episode of the ‘Submission Radio’ podcast, Covington called ‘The Immortal’ a drug addict. He said, “He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He’s saying this and that. Dude, he [Matt Brown] needs to go get some more money from his next fight so he can spend it on drugs again.” Covington has a history of never backing down from responding to others’ comments about him, and he did the same on this occasion as well.
