With UFC 297 around the corner, many people have shared their predictions for the pay-per-view. Former two-time champion Israel Adesanya is also among those pundits. He shared his prediction for the middleweight championship fight between Dricus du Plessis and Sean Strickland. ‘Izzy’ believes that the South African will make use of his wrestling skills. “Dricus is gonna try and wrestle him… do his offbeat rhythm [and] all that kind of stuff. But the problem is he might get jabbed by Sean the first round and then [he’ll] really have to switch to the grappling because Sean’s jab is underrated,” said Israel Adesanya in a video on his YouTube channel.

Nevertheless, Adesanya believes that UFC 297 will be Dricus du Plessis’ night and the fight may not last too long. He added, “Official pick, I’m gonna go with Dricus. Does it go to distance? I’m going to say no… I say sub [mission].” It remains to be seen if Adesanya is right about his prediction this Saturday.

Khamzat Chimaev teased a return this April

‘Borz’ made a triumphant return to the Octagon at UFC 294. However, he suffered an injury for which he had to later get surgery. In a recent Instagram story, Khamzat Chimaev started a picture of him during training and captioned it: “300”. This has spurred speculations that ‘Borz’ could be coming back to fight at UFC 300.

There are more fights to be added to the card for that event, and Chimaev could find a spot in that. However, we still don’t have any official announcement yet.

“Those who know MMA said, ‘That is not a mega event. That is not worthy of being hosted in Saudi Arabia. That is a poor fight quality card the UFC put forth on March 2,'” said Donn Davis. We will have to wait and see what changes Dana White makes to the card when the day for the first Saudi UFC event arrives in June.
