So as the results were coming in, four hours before they called it, Dana White told me Elon was like ‘I’m leaving. It’s over. Donald won. He just f***** [laughs] somehow or another. It’s like, I don’t know where he’s pulling his data from but he had like the most accurate data.”

Why did the UFC go all in on Cody Garbrandt?

Times have bee͏n tou͏g͏h f͏or Cody ͏Ga͏rbrandt͏,͏ as the figh͏ter had ͏to͏ pull o͏ut of ͏hi͏͏s͏ bout ag͏ai͏nst Mi͏les Johns at UFC Vegas 100 ͏due to und͏isclose͏d r͏͏͏easons. His career has been on a downward trend ever since he lost his 135lbs gold to arch-rival TJ Dillashaw in 2017. Well, in a recent confession, Dillasha͏w dropped a bomb confession about Garbrandt’s career. According to the UFC fighter, the company invested a hefty $6 million on ‘No Love’ to catapult him as the next Conor McGregor.

On a recent episode of The Casuals MMA, Dillashaw reflected on his rivalry with Garbrandt and also revealed the fate of his former ‘Team Alpha Male’ training partner. “He had a lot of pressure on him too. He had an amazing fight against Cruz. I’ve never seen Cody Garbrandt be that good. His style is perfect for Cruz. He’s by far the fastest human being I’ve ever trained with when it comes to reaction times and how quick he is. He’s got great wrestling, and he’s got power in his hands, so it was a perfect match-up for him,” said Dillashaw.

He further added, “Coming off that, UFC was like ‘Hey, this is our next big horse, let’s put some money into him.’ So they market the s—t out of him, put him in a bunch of commercials and got some celebrities behind him. From what I was told, they put like $6 million into marketing him before our fight and gave us The Ultimate Fighter. So he went to massive stardom — way bigger than me — fast. They wanted him to be the next Conor McGregor, like run your mouth. I wouldn’t say he was the sharpest tool in the shed to be able to do something like that, so he just like said s—t, and he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

Pressure has for sure caught up with ‘No Love’ as he has a record of 3-6 in his last 9 fights and with his recent fight cancellation news, the UFC might have to take a serious look at Garbrandt’s career. Now, let us move forward to Valentina Shevchenko and Manon Fiorot’s ongoing beef.

͏Valentina Shevchenko and Manon Fiorot beef getting serious

͏After defeating Alexa Grasso at UFC 306, Valentina Shevchenko was enjoying her free time as a champion but it appears that it was a bit short-lived as Manon Fiorot has challenged her for a title soon. The 13-1 fighter took to her socials to announce that she had been waiting for a long time for the title and that it would be better for her to just let her have the shot at the gold. In addition to that, the flyweight contender threw a retirement jibe towards Shevchenko, “@BulletValentina stop making people wait! Let’s do it soon enough so I can send you to retirement and move on.”

Her words found their way to the champ as it didn’t take long for Shevchenko to make her statement. The champion verbally agreed to the fight but asked a rather significant thing from Fiorot. And it happened to be her career! “You lose – you retire Deal ?!! Ill-mannered first-grader” wrote Shevchenko on X. It is kind of sure that if it is not Grasso, then Fiorot would be her next opponent. Regardless, with both the fighters looking to clash against each other, things might be heating up in the women’s flyweight division.
