However, he also received a rather taunting reply from his former rival and UFC Featherweight champ, Alexander Volkanovski. ‘Volk’ wrote, “You running brotha, you don’t want this smoke”. But, Makhachev also didn’t showcase any signs of backing down. He quoted ‘The Great’s’ tweet with a caption reading, “Take the fight then”.

Hence, ‘The Dagestani’ choosing Edwards as his rival despite his words, might have triggered this response from Volkanovski.
