Petr Yan shared his reaction after Conor McGregor claimed to be the best boxer in UFC

Former bantamweight champion Petr Yan recently came face to face against Conor McGregor at a boxing event. It was just a light-hearted moment between the two UFC fighters. Thereafter, ‘The Notorious’ was swarmed with media outlets who asked him about his thoughts on boxing. He spoke highly about the sport and even went on to claim that he’s the best boxer in the entire UFC roster.

When the interviewer tried to confirm whether Conor McGregor was talking about himself or Petr Yan, ‘The Notorious’ gave a checking response. “You know who? The one with the accolades. The one with the records,” said the Irishman. But then McGregor broke character and acknowledged Yan’s boxing skills as well.

Joe Rogan will be there for UFC 296

A few months ago, Joe Rogan decided that he would not be commentating on every UFC event. He finds it hard to travel from one place to another, especially for international events. However, UFC 296 will be taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, the home of the UFC. As per a report by ‘MMA Junkie‘, the 56-year-old will be a part of the commentary team for the Colby Covington-Edwards headliner.

Joining Joe Rogan on commentary will be Jon Anik, who will command play-by-play and the UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier. When it comes to the ring announcer, the legendary Bruce Buffer will reprise his usual role while Laura Sanko, Dan Hellie, and Chris Weidman will host the weigh-in show.

Colby Covington wants a shot at the middleweight title

Ahead of his UFC 296 title fight, Colby Covington sat down for an interview with ‘CODE SPORTS‘. He went off on Sean Strickland, claiming that the middleweight champion is jealous. Covington said, “He’s pretending to be everything he wishes I was. I would love to slap Sean Strickland around.”

Colby Covington also appeared dismissive of Sean Strickland’s fighting skills. The former interim champion is confident that he can beat ‘Tarzan’. “He’s a pathetic excuse of a human being. The guy has no IQ. He needs his mouth wired shut and I’m the guy to do it,” said ‘Chaos’. It remains to be seen if Covington decides to make the jump to middleweight, but still has to first focus on his fight this weekend.
