Nobody thought that Sean Strickland would defeat Israel Adesanya at UFC 293. However, that was not the case. The 32-year-old showcased a rather dominating performance in Sydney. He outstruck the former champion and even knocked him down at one point. Furthermore, Strickland beat Adesanya at his own game.

Strickland looked sharp and on point. He defended ‘Izzy’s strikes well and landed more strikes with his hands than his legs. Furthermore, his performance earned him a ‘Performance of the Night’ honor while capturing the undisputed UFC middleweight championship. Following Sean Strickland’s win, Dana White confirmed that a rematch is in order.

Sean O’Malley issued a response to Aljamain Sterling’s request for a rematch

‘Suga’ undoubtedly outclassed Aljamain Sterling at UFC 292. Much like Sean Strickland, he also became a UFC champion in his first-ever title fight. Moreover, he ended Sterling’s two-year-long reign as the bantamweight champion. But it looks like ‘Funk Master’ is not done with the title. He recently requested a rematch during the live broadcast of UFC 293.

During UFC 293, Sterling was captured on camera holding up a sign on his mobile device aimed at O’Malley. Subsequently, O’Malley reacted promptly on Twitter (X). However, Sterling did not expect the response he received.

‘Suga’ took to social media to express his thoughts about a rematch. However, he was not interested in running it back. Sean O’Malley stated that he would have considered a rematch only if their last fight had been a close one.

Manel Kape, in the ‘Fight of the Night’, defeated Felipe dos Santos in an all-out battle. The three-round war ended with ‘Starboy’ winning the fight via a unanimous decision. However, what went down after the fight was more noteworthy, as Kape sent an X-rated rant on Kai Kara-France.

Kara-France pulled out of his fight against Manel Kape, which was the initial plan for UFC 293. But an injury made him withdraw from the event in Sydney. Hence, ‘Starboy’ mocked him for the pullout and even shared some words of disdain towards Kai Kara-France and his team, which Dana White later addressed during the press conference. We will have to wait and see when that fight will take place.
