Tom Aspinall expresses his frustration with Jon Jones in a hilarious manner

It has been way too long since we began waiting for Tom Aspinall vs. Jon Jones. While Aspinall secured the interim heavyweight belt and even defended it once, Jones fought Stipe Miocic and went radio silent regarding any updates about fighting Aspinall. Initially, the heavyweight champion was rumored to have asked for $30M to fight the Brit and later opted to go on a 180-day break. Needless to say, Aspinall was pretty upset and frustrated with the inactivity. But things seemed to be moving forward as the Briton took to Instagram and dropped a date–“28.05.2025.” He hinted that some heavyweight news was on the way.

But the news was as disappointing as it could get. He later took to the comments section and announced, “Sorry guys, I’m fighting for a new belt, the interim of the interim BMF UFC heavyweight title. Living my best life.”He also pointed out that the UFC was anointed with the job of fight announcements and not him. The frustration was pretty clear in his words. “Living my best life” was a subtle jab at Jones’ response about his time in Thailand, where he claimed to be doing the same. All he wanted was a fight with Jones.

Nevertheless, the world of mixed martial arts was surely moving in the forward direction. Vendetta Fight Nights marked the newest record for the fastest knockout in MMA. Intrigued?

New benchmark for fastest KO recorded in MMA

Vendetta Fight Nights #46 witnessed an impressive performance by Mahsun Sahzade. He defeated Daryosh Sanjar with a kick to the head. Of course, it happened as soon as the referee commenced the battle. The new world record for the fastest knockout was now set at just 2.36 seconds. Without a doubt, the new record attracted quite some attention from the fighting community.

This happened so fast that Sanjar was also left in confusion. After he dropped down to the ground, and the referee waved his hands to call off the fight, Sanjar tried to take control of the referee’s legs. To ease the confusion and calm the fighter, the referee had to go down and grapple with him. It was indeed a bit chaotic, but the truth was right out in the open. Jorge Masvidal’s 5-second KO was no longer the fastest one in MMA.

Now, it’s time for us to take a look at the welterweight division. What is going to happen with Michael Morales? Is he really going to fight Leon Edwards?

Truth about Michael Morales vs Leon Edwards revealed

Following his latest win, Morales said, “I will fight anyone, whether it’s Garry or Leon Edwards. I don’t plan to stop for anything. Right now, I have a knee injury and need to recover.” He also revealed that he is aiming for a fight at the UFC event in Mexico City this September, saying, “If the fight is in September, I will accept it. I am heading back to Mexico to train and prepare for whoever it may be.” However, the reality has turned a bit differently as the fans began to talk about his fight against Leon Edwards.

Talking to MMA LatinoAmerica, Morales’ manager confirmed that Edwards was not on the table for the Ecuadorian welterweight star. However, there were a few other names that he could possibly go up against. But the thread was left open. Morales might still fight at UFC 320, but his opponent is yet to be revealed.
