Alexander Volkanovski accepts Conor McGregor’s challenge

‘The Notorious’ recently fired shots at featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski on Twitter (X). He ridiculed ‘The Great’s pound-for-pound ranking and claimed that he would easily beat him in a fight. Conor McGregor said, “Ask my bollox that little sausage volkonovski is no way p4p 1. Silly. That’s quick work for me. 100% accuracy work. Readable. Hittable. Hurtable.”

Furthermore, he also hinted that he might go for Volkanovski’s title and would like to fight him in the not-so-distant future. “I like he has this title tho we should fight at some stage so the FW goats will have all faced off and let there be no debate,” said McGregor. Similarly, Volkanovski was not a person to back out of such challenges and he accepted to fight the Irishman at UFC 300. “Let’s do it at [UFC 300] [Conor McGregor],” said the featherweight champion. We will have to wait and see how Dana White feels about that proposition.

A potential title bout between Du Plessis and Adesanya would have generated significant revenue for all parties involved. However, this matchup has currently been lost. Du Plessis acknowledged that he did not anticipate Strickland’s triumph, but he affirmed that his objective of attaining the championship remains unchanged. We will have to wait and see what the UFC has in store for ‘Stillknocks’ in the days to come.
