We are less than two weeks away from the UFC’s last pay-per-view of the year. But like many events in the past, UFC 296 also suffered a major blow. Giga Chikadze, who was scheduled to fight Josh Emmett, pulled out of the PPV due to an injury. The details of the injury have not yet been disclosed. After learning about the pullout, Emmett took to Twitter (X) to ask for someone to step up for Chikadze.

“Giga’s out. Who’s ready for December 16? [UFC 296],” tweeted Josh Emmett. It is not yet certain if the UFC is looking for a replacement fighter for ‘CC0’ because it has not been announced yet. We will have to wait for further developments to see if this fight gets called off or stays on the card.

Conor McGregor gives a shout-out to his potential political competitors

The former UFC double champion Conor McGregor raised a lot of eyebrows after hinting that he might run for president of Ireland. Now, he has shared a tweet highlighting the potential rivals of his presidential campaign. Conor McGregor called out Gerry Adams, Bertie Ahern, and Enda Kenny for a 2025 political showdown.

“Potential competition if I run. Gerry, 78. Bertie. 75. Enda, 74. Each with unbreakable ties to their individual parties politics. Regardless of what the public outside of their parties feel,” said Conor McGregor. He mentioned that people could choose them, but he also claims to be passionate about a presidential campaign and the Irish masses could like a fresh face in the political scenario.

“Or me, 35. Young, active, passionate, fresh skin in the game… I have no affiliation/bias/favoritism toward any party. They would genuinely be held to account regarding the current sway of public feeling,” McGregor further stated. We will have to wait and see if he seriously decides to put himself out there in 2025.

After Tom Aspinall won the interim heavyweight title at UFC 295, he demanded to Dana White that Jon Jones be stripped of his title since he’d be out for a long time due to injury. But ‘Bones’ did not like that and sounded off on the English fighter on social media. He mentioned how he has fought some of the best fighters the UFC had to offer. Moreover, this was the first time in his career that he had to undergo surgery to cater to his injured shoulder.

Similarly, he lashed out at Tom Aspinall, who is yet to have a title defense or fight a legendary competitor in the UFC. As such, he reminded everybody that there is only one Jon Jones. Meanwhile, Aspinall was quick to respond to that tweet with an apology. He said “You’re right. Sorry Jon.” It seems like the interim champion did not want to have a scuffle on social media. However, we can assume that Jones may not like Aspinall all that much.
