Boxing star accused Dana White and the UFC of monopoly

Former WBA and IBO champion Chris Eubank Jr. recently appeared on ‘The MMA Hour’. He talked about the difference in pay between boxing and MMA. Eubank Jr. claims that there is more competition in boxing than MMA. Hence, that is the reason why boxers are paid more. But when it comes to MMA, nobody is as big as the UFC. The former boxing champion took shots at Dana White, claiming that he has monopolized the sport.

“It’s impossible with the UFC. You have a guy who’s monopolized the entire MMA world. If you don’t accept what Dana White is giving you, goodbye. Find somewhere else to go,” said Chris Eubank Jr. Moreover, he even took the example of Francis Ngannou regarding that.

Eubank Jr. did not shy away from praising Dana White for the way he’s conducted his business. However, he believes that fighters should get paid more since they risk their lives inside the Octagon. We will have to wait and see how the 54-year-old promoter reacts to these accusations.

Dricus du Plessis took aim at Israel Adesanya

Israel Adesanya disappointed many fans with his performance at UFC 293. But taking nothing away from Sean Strickland, ‘Tarzan’ proved himself to be one of the best strikers in the middleweight division. Moreover, Adesanya’s rival Dricus du Plessis also did not stop mocking ‘The Last Stylebender’ after his recent loss.

In a recent appearance on ‘The MMA Hour’, ‘Stillknocks’ claimed that the UFC 293 version of Adesanya would get finished in just one round by him and his last opponent, Robert Whittaker. He said, “If I fought that version of Israel Adesanya, that fight, do you think Robert Whittaker would have beaten that version of Adesanya? Yes. That fight would have gone round and a half with me and Whittaker. There is no way Adesanya would have seen the second round.” It remains to be how the former champion will bounce back after one of the biggest upset losses in the UFC’s history.

Dana White’s role changed after the UFC-WWE merger

For over 22 years, Dana White represented the UFC as its president. He took the promotion to new heights after going through turbulent times, including getting banned in several states in the US. But now, the UFC has grown to be a billion-dollar promotion and recently joined hands with WWE in a merger to form the TKO Group Holdings.

While former long-time WWE chairman Vince McMahon assumed his role as the executive chairman of TKO, Dana White has taken up the role of the CEO of the UFC. Furthermore, both promotions will continue to operate separately as they have done throughout their existence. White also claimed that his transition was a lateral move and he would continue the same duties he assumed as president.
