Second-degree assault charges placed against Nate Diaz

Nate Diaz and his recent brawl at the New Orleans street had been in the headlines for the past few days. The latest advancement in this matter saw the coveted Paul brothers, Jake and Logan Paul, mocking Diaz after his feeble actions. But, as it seems, Diaz’s brawl-related trouble wasn’t leaving him anytime soon.

Recently, the New Orleans Police Department issued an arrest warrant against Diaz owing to his earlier misconduct. NOPD spokesperson, Karen A. Bourdie, spoke to ‘MMA Fighting’ and revealed that Diaz had been charged with second-degree battery. Further, the video confirmed his misconduct, which led to an arrest warrant being issued against him.

Colby Covington labeled Jorge Masvidal’s retirement as a fake one

Reigniting the bitter feud between himself and Jorge Masvidal, Colby Covington, gave out a deriding statement about the retirement of ‘Gamebred’. Recently, the team of ‘InsideFighting’ caught up with Covington while he was at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas.

‘Chaos’ stated that Masvidal’s UFC 287 retirement was just a showoff. He said, “I retired him last March when we fought here at the T-Mobile Arena in 2022”. He also laid stress on how ‘Gamebred’ wasn’t the same anymore after he fought Covington. ‘Donal Trump’s favorite fighter’ also labeled Masvodal’s UFC 287 retirement as a “fake” one.

Covington implied that he knew Masvidal would return to the UFC since it was the only way he could make money. ‘Chaos’ iterated, “We all know people in the UFC that don’t retire. He’ll [Masvidal] get out of the USADA pool, probably go do some steroids and come back because he doesn’t know how to make money any other way but fighting.”

Recent reports suggest Stephan Bonnar died due to an accidental fentanyl overdose

The UFC Hall of Famer, Stephan Bonnar’s demise had sent the MMA world into deep mourning. The American MMA legend bid goodbye to the world on 22 December 2022. Initially, presumed “heart complications” were announced as the reasons for his death. But a recent report from The Clark County (Nev.) coroner’s office claimed otherwise.

The coroner’s office wrote the reason for Bonnar’s death as “Fentanyl, Parafluorofentanyl and Mitragynine intoxication” in an email sent to ‘MMA Fighting’. There had also been a public records request for revealing the reason behind Bonnar’s death. Previously, the coroner’s office had declined to give out details on the same.

Bonnar had also been vocal about his use of opioids to treat his long-time injuries from wrestling and MMA. He also stated that the UFC had blacklisted him due to his drug usage.
