The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Philadelphia recently made her debut in one of the biggest MMA ventures ONE Championship in March 2022. The 26-year-old took on the Japanese MMA veteran, Mei Yamaguchi, in a grappling bout at ONE: ‘X’.
The women’s atomweight submission grappling showdown went the full distance as both the combatants showed amazing skills inside the ONE cage. But the battle ended in a draw as neither of the fighter submitted.
However, the 26-year-old Kelly had done enough on her debut to impress the fans and CEO of ONE Championship, Chatri Sityodtong. Subsequently, Sityodtong awarded Kelly a $50,000 bonus for her dominant performance.

The presenter announced the bonus while interviewing Kelly inside the cage. It was then that the Philadelphian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt got emotional and couldn’t hold her tears.

Later, Kelly edited her picture and made a hilarious meme out of it. She also collaged the famous picture of Kim Kardashian crying, “Insert Kim K crying face,” Kelly wrote in the caption.

The American grappling phenomenon, Danielle Kelly, has surely impressed the fight fans and ONE Championship founder & CEO with her dominant performance at ONE X. However, Kelly wants more than just grappling bouts at ONE Championship.

In an interview with Essentially Sports, Danielle Kelly stated she has been looking to make her MMA debut in the promotion soon. For the same, Kelly has been practicing MMA at the Evolve MMA gym.
