Michael Swick is a retired American professional MMA fighter, who is famous for his stint at UFC. He spent most of his career in the UFC’s middleweight division. In addition, he was a member of the original ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ season in 2005. Moreover, he has over 15 UFC fights to his name. Post UFC, he is famous for his podcast ‘Real Quick With Mike Swick’. Furthermore, he has had the pleasure of hosting notable guests like Dana White and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Unfortunately, in 2022, Swick revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer. He has Stage 4 Lymphoblastic Lymphoma Luekemia. Despite this setback, he remains determined to recover and beat the disease. Swick opens up about his battle with cancer

Mike Swick, over an Instagram post, revealed that he had been living with cancer for over seven months without knowing. He had passed an initial biopsy on his lymph node and all vitals were good. Moreover, he and his doctors assumed that the swollen lymph nodes were side effects from the Johnson and Johnson vaccine he had received. Since the swelling occurred the day after he received the vaccine.

He said, “So if you scroll back seven months on my IG, you can see how much fun I was having with cancer and not even knowing it. Free-diving, skydiving, training… kinda crazy. Be safe everyone and never listen to the first diagnosis.”

In his post, Mike encourages others to be vigilant about their health and to not accept the first diagnosis they receive. He also reflects on how much fun he had in the past seven months, free-diving, skydiving, and training, not knowing he had cancer.
