USADA meets Dagestan. Before stepping into the UFC octagon, it is mandatory for every UFC fighter to clear the anti-doping test. However, many believe that the USADA never tested fighters who were living in Dagestan, like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev, as it would take them a lot of effort to get the samples. Even retired UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal and UFC commentator Joe Rogan believe that it’s hard for USADA to test fighters who are not living in the United States.

In the JRE MMA #137 episode, Rogan and Masvidal talked about how every fighter should get tested. They both feel that there were times when some fighters easily escaped the procedure because they were not settled in the US. During their conversation, both Rogan and Masvidal hinted that the Dagestani fighters have this advantage over other fighters who live in America. The UFC commentator stated that they wouldn’t travel to the mountains of Dagestan to get the fighters tested. However, after months of Rogan’s claims, the Russian fighter Abusupiyan Magomedov proves otherwise.

Joe Rogan proved wrong

Abusupiyan Magomedov took to his Instagram story to post a picture of him getting tested by the USADA. Along with the picture he wrote, “No matter where you are, they’ll get you everywhere.Magomedov hails from Argun, Russia and his post was proof that USADA will test the fighters no matter where they are. This proved whatever Rogan believed to be false. The JRE podcaster believed that Russian fighters like Nurmagomedov and Makhachev never went through the USADA procedures.

It is also to be noted that these fighters mostly train in the United States and would not have escaped the eagle eyes of the anti-doping testing agency. Magomedov’s Instagram story caught the attention of netizens, and the post found its way to Reddit. The fans were quick to react to the incident.

"Like many, my journey into the beautiful game began by watching the mesmerizing Lionel Messi, as his impeccable vision on the pitch and role as a playmaker, meticulously calculating the path to goal always amazed me. This fascination with the finer details of soccer strategy naturally extended to my interest in content strategy. However, my zeal for being a soccer content analyst is not only because of Messi's magic, as I am a keen follower of the Becks as well. While in David Beckham, it was a special affinity for his mastery of crosses, passes, and set pieces, in Victoria Beckham, the fashion queen, I find inspiration in how she masterfully navigated the world of aesthetics and brand identity. This unique blend of admiration for both the tactical intricacies of soccer and the world of fashion and entertainment helps me to cover the game from angles that seamlessly balance sport and entertainment. Before joining EssentiallySports, I worked as a content analyst as well. A Master's degree in English and Comparative Literature from a premiere institute has helped me hone my writing skills and given me a unique perspective on the world of sports. Interestingly, besides soccer, I also extensively covered UFC, especially the Joe Rogan podcast. In my free time, I enjoy reading and keeping up with the latest developments in the world of sports.
