The Michael Chandler–Conor McGregor fight discussions seem to have hit a dead end thanks to the Irishman’s USADA situation. Currently, fans are debating if there even will be a fight between the pair. Meanwhile, season 31 of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ which was meant to lay the foundation for their fight, is going on in full swing.
As the fight date conversation took center stage, there is one conversation that was put on the back burner- the weight class for the fight. A few months before the TUF 31 announcement, all the speculations were regarding the weight class for Conor McGregor‘s return fight.

This was largely in part due to the sheer amount of size ‘The Notorious’ put on during his injury layoff. McGregor’s shredded look had many fans guessing he would return at welterweight and not any weight class below that. In fact, he was so jacked that Joe Rogan made steroid accusations against the former ‘champ champ.’

Michael Chandler chimes in on the Conor McGregor size debate
In a recent interview with Daniel Cormier, Michael Chandler revealed his thoughts on Conor McGregor putting on a lot of size. ‘Iron’ Mike was not impressed with ‘Mystic Mac.’ Cormier asked Chandler, “Is he actually big? He looks big, like, on TV, but I haven’t actually seen him in person. Is he actually like a big guy?”
The #5 ranked lightweight responded, “He’s not as big as he looks on Instagram and that kind of stuff. I will say, you know, I just think people see me and him next to each other I think we look the same size.”
He further added, “I think I’m actually a pound or two, a couple of pounds heavier than him because I’m denser than he is.”
