Will Smith blew up the internet with an unexpected action on the stage of the 94th Academy Awards. The Dolby theatre audience went in shock, along with millions of live viewers, as the 53-year-old actor went up on stage uninvited and slapped the presenter Chris Rock. Among many mixed reactions, John Kavanagh, the coach of UFC superstar Conor McGregor, also tweeted on the same.
In fact, The Irishman’s coach posted a throwback picture with the Hollywood superstar from an MMA training session the two shared.

The picture is from 2021 when Conor McGregor was having a training camp in Dubai, where Will Smith made a guest appearance. According to Kavanagh, Smith’s team contacted his team and enquired about his willingness to have a session with the actor.
“That was a weird situation that popped up, I was in Dubai training with Conor and his people were on to my people, as they say. Would I be interested in doing a session with Will Smith? Absolutely I would. I’m a massive fan, I couldn’t believe it,” Kavanagh explained.
According to TalkSport, John Kavanagh told that he was “super impressed,” with the box-office legend’s MMA skills. “I got to go out to an incredible sports complex out there. I’ve got a warrior program, and I put him through a typical session. I was super impressed with him,” he added.
The 53-year-old actor had previously played Muhammad Ali in the legendary boxer’s biopic. Kavanagh revealed he reminisced about the movie during that session. He said, “I thought: ‘Oh my god, this is the guy who played Muhammad Ali. This is a scene from that movie.’”
