Muhammad Mokaev is a highly touted prospect with a 30 fight win streak. This includes a 6-0 record as a professional and 23-0 as an amateur, along with 4 IMMAF gold medals and 2 IMMAF world championships. Mokaev is also currently the youngest fighter on the UFC roster at 21 years.

‘The Punisher’ emigrated to the UK as a young boy with his father from Dagestan in Russia. He stayed in a refugee camp in Wigan for most of his childhood. Not knowing the language and culture, Muhammad was bullied and used to get into street fights.

Mokaev’s father took him to the Wigan Youth Zone to learn martial arts and to get away from the street fights. That is where it all started for Mokaev, as he would go on from there to embrace MMA as his career.

Muhammad Mokaev’s fight style and potential next fight.

Mokaev, like his fellow Dagestani counterparts, has a wrestling background that shapes his style in MMA. Tough and gritty, Mokaev likes to inflict damage by taking his opponents down. His striking game, too, is solid with excellent combinations and kicks.

When asked whose style in the UFC is most similar to his, Mokaev said, “I would say similar to Michael Chandler. Kickboxing, striking, they don’t know what I’m going to do, everyone knows I’m gonna take them down. But they cannot just focus on takedown defense or they gonna get smash in the face you know.”

When asked about who he is looking to fight for his debut, Mokaev mentioned fellow flyweight prospect, Cody Durden. However, agreements or contracts on the same have not been signed yet.
