Last year, Dana White and Co. made a sensational move by releasing arguably the most sought-after flyweight prospect, Muhammad Mokaev. The undefeated fighter was reportedly hard to work with, and that led to the UFC brass showing him the door. However, that setback has not demotivated Mokaev in any way because he’s been putting on impressive winning performances in Brave CF.

The flyweight fighter recently added a world title to his resume after winning the inaugural Brave flyweight title. In fact, Muhammad Mokaev won the belt in style by landing a head kick on his opponent, Gerard Burns, and knocking him out just eight seconds into round 2. His career may be thriving, especially with the Brave title, but it appears he’s still motivated to come back into the UFC. For that, he intends to get in contact with Dana White and the other UFC execs.

Muhammad Mokaev reveals plans to meet Dana White in Qatar

After two back-to-back wins and a title win, Muhammad Mokaev told Kamil Gadzhiev that he’s “100 percent” sure he can convince Dana White to bring him back to the UFC. He spoke about what led to his release in the first place, claiming that he wasn’t as social as some of the other fighters were. Mokaev’s introverted nature was what rubbed the CEO and the other matchmakers the wrong way.

“It’s just that my mistake was that, from the very beginning, I didn’t sit in the office, didn’t communicate like I did, didn’t know him as a person,” Muhammad Mokaev stated. “He knows 57 fighters, but 57 are very much controlled by the matchmaker, Mick Maynard. He’s the one who signed me.”

The undefeated flyweight revealed that he has had contact with the UFC executive, with Mick Maynard and Hunter Campbell actually congratulating him following his Brave flyweight title win. This, according to ‘The Punisher’, was the opening he needed, and he wishes to make the most of it by flying all the way to Qatar on November 22nd to attend the first UFC event in the country and hopefully strike a chord with Dana White and Co.

“An interesting story is that, on the day of the fight, at 4 o’clock in the morning, they congratulated me… wished me good luck. This is Hunter Campbell and Mick on the day of the fight, and congratulated me after the fight,” Muhammad Mokaev added. “And now, I’m flying to Qatar on November 22nd… I think this is the best way… I think just a casual conversation with him [Dana White] will put everything in its place.”

Muhammad Mokaev’s post-UFC run in Brave has earned him the fans’ backing to make his way back into the UFC. We’ll have to wait and see if that happens. And ‘The Punisher’ seems to have no issues with Dana White and Co. despite getting ousted from the promotion.

Mokaev is grateful to the UFC CEO

Muhammad Mokaev has mentioned in his prior interviews that Dana White’s comments following his exit went so viral that it affected the way other promotions looked at him. While agreeing with certain things that the UFC CEO said, Mokaev took issue with some of the other statements White made. However, the 25-year-old is still thankful to his former employer for allowing him to compete in the UFC and grow his name and his brand as a top MMA athlete.

“Something that’s not true cannot come out like this and ruin somebody’s reputation… My reputation has never been ruined by the people who actually knew me, knew me before UFC and after UFC,” Muhammad Mokaev said last month. “UFC helped me to build my brand, helped me to get on my feet. I didn’t have a house. I was renting house. Now I have everything. Because of one thing what they said on the media doesn’t mean they’re bad people.”

Well, we are less than a couple of weeks away from UFC Qatar, and it will be interesting to see how Muhammad Mokaev’s plans to mend fences with Dana White and Co. pan out. Do you think he’ll ever make his way back into the Las Vegas-based promotion? Drop your comments below.
