Miesha Tate is one of the most known figures in women’s MMA. She is a former UFC women’s bantamweight champion and is one of the pioneers of women’s MMA.

Tate won the bantamweight title back in 2016, when she beat Holly Holm via submission at UFC 196. However, she dropped the title in her next fight against Amanda Nunes and lost her next fight against Raquel Pennington at UFC 205. After the loss, she announced her retirement from the sport.

In 2021, ‘Cupcake’ announced her comeback to the sport, and fought Marion Reneau at UFC Vegas 31. She put in a dominant performance against a ranked opponent and looked better than ever. However, she tasted defeat in her last outing against Ketlen Vieira. But she is not ready to give up on her comeback just yet.

Tate recently posted a video on Twitter and wrote, “Continue to play it back in reverse, I haven’t quite hit my stride just yet again but I refuse to hang my head on any of my accomplishments. My Children will know that losses are still accomplishments.”

She is currently ranked 7 in the women’s bantamweight division.

Miesha Tate – Legacy and future

Miesha Tate is one of the most known female fighters in the world. She is considered one of the best to ever do it, and fight fans always tune in to watch her fight.

‘Cupcake’ is a former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion, a title she dropped to her rival Ronda Rousey. After losing her first two fights after signing with the UFC, she went on a four-fight win streak. The run landed her a title fight against Holly Holm, a fight not many expected her to win. After competitive four rounds, Tate took Holm down and submitted her.

However, after winning the title, she lost her next two fights and announced her retirement. She made a comeback earlier in 2021 and has looked in great shape. Despite losing her last fight, Tate is confident in her abilities and will keep going. There are many other fighters she can face and get herself back in the title picture. She has shown the desire to face Nunes again for the title, but the defeat in her last fight will force her to wait longer.
