Since UFC 282, it’s not new for Paddy Pimblett to receive backlash from the fans. He has been under intense scrutiny after his controversial victory over Jared Gordon. The British fighter, who showed flashes of brilliance early in his career, is currently taking a break from UFC due to an injury.

Pimblett can come across as someone who doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind. However,  along with that also comes the baggage of offending some people. Well, his frankness has once again backfired on him as his recent comments about fellow UFC competitors Josh Emmett and Ilia Topuria have resurfaced again.

Paddy Pimblett’s jeering got highlighted again

A tweet from the handle of MMA Fighting grabbed headlines as it resurfaced Pimblett’s unvarnished statements regarding a UFC Jacksonville contest in which Topuria eventually prevailed. It had a caption that stated, “Paddy Pimblett wasn’t too impressed with Ilia Topuria’s last performance”. The first slide of the post highlighted Pimblett’s spicy statements, which he made regarding the fight between UFC  featherweights Ilia Topuria and Josh Emmett.

He said,” I’d love to season of the ultimate fighter with Ilia Topuria, that would be hilarious. Performance of the year? F***ing hell, lad, he couldn’t finish someone who is going to retire soon. You messing, are you? Josh Emmett like 39, isn’t he? If you think that was a great performance, then yeah, but i could finish Josh Emmett in my sleep.”

Pimblett surely wanted to throw shade on both fighters. He even mocked Emmett for his age. ‘The Baddy’ might be proud of his deeds, but little did he know that loyal fans wouldn’t take his comments kindly.

Pimblett’s harangue didn’t find many willing takers, and the fans expressed their opinions. They appeared to be criticizing Pimblett in their remarks.
