Nate Diaz Gives His Verdict on Conor McGregor Trilogy Before UFC 279

Nate Diaz has been in some big fights, but none of them are greater than the two fights he had with Conor McGregor. 

Fans were desperate for a third fight, but nothing significant took off; moreover, to add to their disappointment, UFC recently announced that Nate Diaz would be competing in the last fight of his contract at UFC 279.

The door seemed closed until Nate Diaz spoke about the possibility of the fight happening in the future. 

Nate Diaz gives a green signal to the potential Conor McGregor trilogy

In an interview, Diaz was asked, “You arguably got the biggest fan base in the world, so you have a lot of fans, but they all want to see the Conor trilogy. Does that mean anything to you? Do you care about the Conor trilogy? What’s up with that?”

Diaz got the fans excited with his answer. He said, “The timing are not on right now, we’ll worry about that later. For sure it’s gonna happen at some point”

The reporter reaffirmed by asking, “so it’s for sure gonna happen at some point?”

And Diaz said, “Yeah, at some point get back on it and get back on what he’s gotta do. Whatever that is, it’s like when we match up, we match up. We ain’t going nowhere”

Fans displayed their immense support for Diaz in the comment section, furthermore, they sent their good wishes for his upcoming fight.

Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz’s epic UFC history

Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor were involved in one of the most heated rivalries in the UFC. The beef between the pair was as natural as it could have gotten; thus, the fight also experienced a humongous financial success. 

Two fights combined did more than $3 million in PPV, making it one of the highest-grossing fights of all time. 

The pair is 1-1, with Diaz winning the first by submission and McGregor getting the second via a razor-thin decision. Both fights saw the fighters giving their 100% and putting it all on the line.

With Diaz hinting at the possibility of the trilogy taking place, it’ll be interesting to see when it will come to actual fruition.

Nate Diaz is set to fight against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 279. This welterweight bout marks the main event of the evening, as well as the last fight of Nate Diaz’s contract. With what’s been speculated so far by media and fans, Diaz is not interested in re-signing with the UFC.

Although this is the toughest test for Nate Diaz, fans are riding high on the Stockton native and are rooting for him to deliver an upset. No one count Nate Diaz out.
