Ian Garry recently won the Cage Warriors welterweight title after defeating Jack Grant at the Cage Warriors 125 event. Coming into his fight against Grant, Gary was on a six-fight winning streak and was considered the favorite to win the title. After his victory, Garry called out UFC fighter Nate Diaz for a fight.

Garry dominated his fight against Grant and ended up winning it via a unanimous decision. Following his victory, Garry sat down for an interview with Edith Labelle and said, “You know what’s next, UFC Vegas, I am coming.”

Garry has always shown an interest in joining the UFC. Even before winning the Cage Warriors welterweight title, ‘The Future’ had talked about his desire to join the UFC someday. When asked about whether he would like to face anyone in particular in his UFC debut, the fighter gave a very interesting answer.

He said, “Everybody and anybody. But I want to fight Nate Diaz within the first year. That’s my goal, Nate Diaz let’s do this.”

Ian Garry believes Conor McGregor is the biggest star in MMA

Ian Garry, (7-0) in his professional MMA career, has shown some incredible KO skills in his fights. Garry, who is originally from Dublin, Ireland, is very confident and never shies away from speaking his mind. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that they often compare the fighter to an Irish MMA legend.

Conor McGregor is inarguably one of the biggest stars in MMA history and the fighter hails from Ireland as well. Also, given the KO capabilities ‘Notorious’ showed during his early fights, it was inevitable for people to compare Garry (4KO in 7 wins) with McGregor.

Garry himself is a big fan of McGregor and has idolized him growing up. He believes that ‘Notorious’ is the biggest star there’s ever been in this sport. Therefore, it came as no surprise when Garry called out Nate Diaz since McGregor and Diaz have also shared a great rivalry.
