Nate Diaz surrenders to the New Orleans Police Department

The 38-year-old MMA fighter flew into New Orleans after he was charged with second-degree battery on Rodney Peterson. Reports claim that the New Orleans Police Department officially booked Nate Diaz at 7:10 a.m. CT. His representative, Zach Rosenfield, mentioned that they are looking forward to proving that Diaz was acting in self-defense.

The police department stated that Diaz arrived at NOPD’s Sixth District station on Thursday morning with his attorney. The police booked him for the charge and transferred him to the Orleans Parish Justice Center. He remained there in the Sheriff’s office for a few hours in custody.

Diaz’s representative, Zach Rosenfield, confirmed that the NOPD granted the Stockton native a bond and had to pay $10,000 for it. He also mentioned that Diaz had full permission to travel, including his return to Stockton. Rosenfield also stated that the police department treated them exceptionally well and thanked them, the court, and their staff members.

Nate Diaz later took to Instagram and ensured his fans that he was moving on from this stage after turning himself in. He is now looking forward to getting to work and making money. He wrote, “Off to the next episode money to get.”

Former UFC fighter Jake Shields also shared a video that showed that the Stockton native did not act as the aggressor. We will have to wait and see what pans out for Nate Diaz with regard to the battery charge.
