Nate Diaz has only one fight left on his current UFC contract. Thus, the fans can’t wait to see the potential last fight of the Stockton native. A Conor McGregor trilogy is always on the table, as their second fight saw ‘The Notorious’ taking the majority decision in a highly competitive fight.

However, speaking to TMZ, Diaz has shut the door for the trilogy fight. “Not right now, he [Conor McGregor] got a lot of work to do,” said Diaz on a potential trilogy bout.

However, the trilogy bout makes sense for both the fighters. Recently, ‘The Notorious‘ has lost his last two fights to the top contender, Dustin Poirier. Hence, he should take a step down in competition. Even Diaz has had a hard time finding a win in the welterweight division’s top, as he has lost his last two fights.

Also, McGregor has insisted frequently that the trilogy bout is inevitable. For Diaz, a win over McGregor, in his last fight, will give him leverage as a free agent.

When Bronsteter presented him with odds for McGregor’s next opponent, White picked Diaz. The odds presented were Dustin Poirier (+150), Charles Oliveira(+300), Nate Diaz (+300), Islam Makhachev (+400), Rafael dos Anjos (+450), Tony Ferguson (+500), and Michael Chandler (+700).

Since it is the last fight of Diaz’s contract, the UFC would try to push for the McGregor trilogy, as the first two-fight were highly successful at the box office.
