Nate Diaz is one of the most popular UFC stars on the planet. Diaz is one of the few fighters in the UFC, who is cheered by fans every time he steps in the ring. Diaz last competed in the UFC at the UFC 263 event against Leon Edwards, Diaz lost that fight via unanimous decision.
Diaz is a former lightweight title contender and has been a part of some of UFC’s biggest fights. Diaz also faced Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244 for the UFC’s BMF belt. This event took place at one of the world’s premium stadiums, the Madison Square Garden.

Now in a recent Instagram post, Diaz has shared that he might headline another event at the arena. He wrote, “Headlining the garden like it ain’t no thang. I might have to do that again soon.”
The UFC has not been to the Madison Square Garden in quite some time. And many expect that the platform will return to New York later this year. Diaz had also talked about how he would like to return to action 3, 4 months after his fight with Edwards.
Therefore Diaz’s time to return to the UFC and the UFC’s plan on moving back to MSG seems to be at the same time. While it is quite possible that the main event of the UFC event at MSG will be a title shot. Diaz is also a fan favorite and the UFC might just schedule him to headline the garden.
What next for Nate Diaz?
While Diaz plans to return to the Octagon later this year. Many fans have been speculating as to who the fighter will face when he returns. Many people speculated that Diaz could face Conor McGregor in their much-anticipated trilogy fight. However, as McGregor has been medically suspended till 2022, that seems highly unlikely.

Another potential opponent for Diaz is ‘Gamebred’ as both fighters are at a similar stage in their careers. While it is unsure who Diaz will fight on his return, one thing is sure that we can expect to see him in the Octagon very soon.
