Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier are two of the most popular fighters in the world. The fans adore and love them and they love to put on a show whenever they enter the octagon.

Both have been in the promotion for a long time now and might be on a collision course. Ever since Poirier’s defeat at the hands of Charles Oliveira, he and Diaz have been chirping at each other. They have called each other out multiple times and the UFC is also interested in making the fight.

However, there hasn’t been an official announcement and Diaz recently hinted at retirement. In an interview with TMZ Sports, he said, “I would like to fight Dustin Poirier like now. I’ve been trying to do so… I want the fight now. What’s up? Dana White, let’s get this retirement fight cracking so I can get out of this fight game. I’m done with it.”

They were originally booked to fight each other at UFC 230. However, it was canceled after Poirier pulled out because of a hip injury. Since then, everyone’s waiting for them to dish it out in the octagon. The fans want this fight to happen, and if it is the last fight of Nate Diaz’s career, it will be a perfect send-off.

Despite Diaz calling it his retirement fight, Poirier doesn’t think it will be.

The Diamond‘ wants to be involved in the ‘Fight of the Year’ kind of fights now, and a fight against Diaz is exactly going to be that. Both men are as tough as they come and their bout will be watched across the globe.

Diaz is one of the OGs of the game. However, he hinted at retirement after the Poirier fight. But Poirier doesn’t believe that is going to be the case. In a recent press conference, he said, “I don’t believe that. Nate, he’s got that dog in him. He’s gonna fight forever. We’ll see what happens, but I believe he has a lot of fight left in him.”

“But no telling what his plans are and his exit game or whatever’s going on. But I want the fight and I think he wants it as well.”
