We were about to have a contest for the ages. Jon Jones vs. Nate Diaz. Not in the Octagon, that would never happen given the weight class difference between the two men. But on a ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ like Russian reality show, ‘ALF Reality’, where the duo were supposed to appear as rival head coaches on this year’s season.
Alas, we never got that contest because Diaz walked out of the show abruptly. You may have heard the former BMF contender got into a so-called ‘brawl’ with a contestant on set, which led to him quitting the show. With Diaz on the show, acting as his deputy, was fellow former UFC fighter and Diaz’s friend, Jake Shields.
And while Diaz and Shields had to leave the show on bad terms, ‘Bones’ is having a lot of fun with the participants on the show. On his X post, Shields shared a video of the UFC heavyweight champion having a ball in the pool with the Russian fighters, playing with the boys and having a laugh. Along with this video, the former UFC fighter wrote a rather wistful caption.

“I’m glad Jon Jones is enjoying Thailand More than I did,” Shields wrote, perhaps taking an oblique shot at ‘Bones’ for partying with the guys who caused him and Diaz to leave the show.

But this caption may make some curious? What was the big deal that the duo had to leave the show? According to Jones, the brawl was essentially much ado about nothing, and Zalik, the fighter who started the whole ‘brawl’, was joking when he asked to fight Diaz, which is what it seems like from the video. But according to Jake Shields, there was a lot more going on that was not caught on camera.
Jake Shields claims ‘staff’ got physical with him off-camera after Nate Diaz’s ‘brawl’
Jake Shields has claimed that the reason him and Nate Diaz left ‘ALF Reality’ was because they were concerned about the behavior of the show’s crew and the staff of the resort they were living in. After the so-called brawl was gotten under control, according to Shields, he was physically accosted by a few of the staff and crew.

What’s your perspective on:
Did Nate Diaz overreact, or was he right to leave 'ALF Reality' after the alleged brawl?
Have an interesting take?
“Right when I started to go off on him, I got just blitzed from the side. Not where the fighters were — a couple of guys just started blitzing me, which to me seemed like they were crew working there, not fighters, because the fighters were in the chairs,” Shields said. “To me, it was very clear that it was the staff and the workers. That was one of those moments where, like, I better diffuse the situation.”
As you can imagine, Diaz and Shields felt that they wouldn’t be safe in the resort with the staff and crew, since they had already shown they don’t like them by ‘blitzing’ Shields. So rather than keep looking over their shoulders and live in constant fear of something happening, the duo decided to quit the show altogether. What do you think about Jake Shields’ reaction to Jon Jones having fun with the ‘ALF Reality’ fighters?
