Rob Font might have just come up with one of the craziest stories in MMA. The UFC Bantamweight has not had a good time in the UFC. The 35-year-old is on a two-fight losing streak in the division and his last win came against Cody Garbrandt in 2021. However, he has been booked for a match at UFC 287 in the bantamweight division. Moreover, his career would never have happened had it not been for this particular event. The New England Cartel fighter recently shared this story of how he got ‘hooked’ into the sport and has not looked back ever since.

Rob Font might have shared one of his craziest stories about joining the sport of MMA. In an interview with ‘It’s Content’, the UFC bantamweight revealed how he entered the sport of MMA.

Font said, “I was in Tampa, Florida, delivering pizzas. I want to say it was like a Saturday night. Delivered to a house. There was a couple of guys outside grappling doing jiu-jitsu.”

Furthermore, speaking on the subject, he added, “They kind of broke it down to me. I would say maybe two days later, I was in the gym trying a free week trial. That was it. I was hooked.”

Who would have thought a guy delivering pizzas would end up being a ranked fighter in the UFC? Well, Rob Font, did exactly what.

Font wants to get into winning ways after two consecutive losses. His next fight is against Adrian Yanez at UFC 287. However, both these bantamweights have a gulf in their jiu-jitsu skills. Rob Font is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu whereas his opponent has earned a black belt in the same.

A convincing performance against Yanez will aid in him climbing up the rankings for an ultimate shot at UFC gold. However, Yanez will be looking to put an end to his hopes and climb up the rankings himself.
