The current time is proving to be quite ruly for the noted UFC Welterweight Colby ‘Chaos’ Covington. The 35-year-old was placed as a standby fighter for the coveted UFC 286 main event. But, post the event, things turned out to get even better for Covington as the UFC supremo, Dana White, announced that he would be getting a shot at his division’s gold next.

‘Donald Trump’s favorite fighter’ recently made an appearance at the noted YouTube podcast, ‘Submission Radio’, and talked about this issue along with a number of other ones. One of the podcast hosts wanted Covington’s response about a potential fight between him and the UFC icon, Conor McGregor. It’s pertinent to note that there had been rumors of McGregor fighting as a Welterweight as well. Along with his response to the host’s question, ‘Chaos’ also laid stress on how ‘The Notorious’ was actually a dangerous man.

Conor McGregor’s past reputation made him a dangerous man in Colby Covington’s eyes

The respect that ‘Chaos’ had for McGregor was evident in his words. Amid his answer to the host’s question, Covington also described how McGregor’s contribution to MMA was unmatched. He also stated how McGregor had actually done unthinkable things in the world of MMA.

‘The 35-year-old’ put up the example of McGregor’s dominant victory over the former Featherweight champ, Jose Aldo. He stated, “If you would’ve told me that he’s gonna knock some guy inside nine seconds like whatever he did against Jose. No one could’ve predicted that. He’s not predictable.”

Covington further stated, “He can do anything at a moments notice. So that’s not a guy who you can take lightly. He is a very dangerous and bad man.” There would probably be a lot of other MMA fans as well who think likewise.

Colby Covington wasn’t much worried about a bout with Conor McGregor

The ‘Submission Radio’ host had initially questioned Covington, “Do you see this Colby Covington-Conor McGregor fight coming together? Because Conor’s mentioned, you know, he’s looking at Welterweight if he gets past Michael Chandler. Do you think you and Conor come together for this huge fight.”

‘Chaos’ apparently looked pretty impressed by the idea of the fight. He stated, “I think that there’s definitely a possibility”. He also opinionated that McGregor was the biggest contributor in terms of popularizing the sport of MMA. However, Covington was far from worrying about a potential fight against McGregor. He revealed, “If it happens, it’s beautiful. If it doesn’t, I’m not worried about that”.
