In a rare occurrence, Nick Diaz made an appearance on Dr. Beau Hightower’s channel. The chiropractor, famous for having athletes and fighters in his videos, asked Diaz about a host of topics. But what made the video interesting were older Diaz’s thoughts on Joe Rogan‘s podcast, and especially his own presence on social media.

Surprisingly, responding to Hightower’s question if he still followed the podcast, Diaz denied doing so anymore. “I try not to watch too much of that now. I get too amped up in that stuff.”

Although he also admits to being an ardent listener in the past. “I like all of (the episodes). I used to like all of it. So in tune with it.”

He then goes into detail, explaining his love for the podcast “The thing about watching that and the reason why I was so in tune with it was I was actually following a lot of people he would bring onto that show before he had them on that show. I was already versed in a lot of the subjects.” stated Diaz.

Diaz on his social media presence

The older Diaz is not heavily active on social media, unlike many other retired athletes. He occasionally does post a few training photos and some throwbacks once in a while. But as per the former Strikeforce champ, he was pretty active back in the day, especially on YouTube.

He claims he was quite active on YouTube before the current generation took over. “I was a real big YouTube guy before there was Instagram and Snapchat. Social media really kind of blew me out of the water, because I was kind of an old-school YouTuber. I used to record all my stuff and put it on YouTube.” expressed Diaz.

Diaz also mentions he had to taper his presence down on social media. “I just kind of slowed it down. I didn’t wanna compete with people, being athletes on there. Cause I was an athlete and an MMA fighter….I didn’t wanna be someone who’s going all over the place and I didn’t wanna be someone who’s just like one-dimensional either so I just kind of didn’t run it like that.”
