The Will Smith-Chris Rock fiasco at the Oscars shocked spectators all over. After all, it was so unexpected. People have been divided over Smith’s action of slapping the comedian. While some people felt Rock shouldn’t have made the joke as Jada Pinkett Smith suffers from a condition, others felt that Smith’s action was violent. Joe Rogan too discussed the incident on his podcast with guest Yannis Pappas.

While speaking about the situation, Rogan compared it to Russia. The podcaster said, “That’s basically giving a green light to the p*mp slap to what Will Smith did to Chris Rock, that is not a crime to do to your wife in Russia.”

Rogan further revealed what Rock should have done. He said, “Should have jumped on his back as soon as he turned his back like that.” Pappas pointed out how Rogan was thinking through his ‘MMA brain’.

In addition to this, Rogan and his guest debated the reason for Smith slapping Rock. However, both felt that Rock should have hit Smith back. Joe Rogan also wondered what Chris Rock could have done if he had a year of Jiu-Jitsu training.

As per Rogan, both the stars spoke about the incident backstage and sorted it out, which the podcaster was happy about. He didn’t think Smith should have to go to jail or have his award taken away. Rogan further said that it was a learning experience for everyone.

Joe Rogan wondered whether Chris Rock knew about Jada Pinkett Smith’s condition

In another episode with Josh Barnett, Rogan had commented on the Oscars incident. According to him, he was not aware that Jada Smith was suffering from alopecia, and hence, he wondered whether Rock was aware of it.

Additionally, the UFC commentator felt that the G.I. Jane joke was a ‘mild’ one. Rogan and his guest debated on Will Smith’s action and felt that smack was not needed.

On the UFC front, UFC 273, is just around the corner. The event takes place on April 9, in Florida. As a result, fans cannot wait to see some tough fights as well as hear Rogan commentate on them.
