Fans of Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski will be familiar with the Australian’s knack for cooking up dishes on his YouTube channel. The 34-year-old’s passion for cooking is quite obvious as he regularly posts videos of himself preparing mouth-watering dishes. Now, Volkanovski has used his skills in the kitchen to rile up an opponent Islam Makhachev; at least that’s what it looked like to some fans, by cooking a Dagestani dish. Fans were quick to react to the video showing his preparation of shashlik, a Dagestani recipe. Since the duo will face each other in just over a week, the MMA community found it amusing that the Australian chose to prepare a dish from Makhachev‘s native.

Fans react to Alexander Volkanovski’s latest cooking video
The 34-year-old Australian made sure he cooked up a storm with his Dagestani recipe, which was evident from the fan reactions. In what he called an air-fried version of shish kebab, Volk served up a delicious-looking dish using lamb meat. Apart from his culinary skills, what stood out were the comments that MMA fans left on the video. While some came out rooting for him, a few took offense at the featherweight champ for apparently taking a dig at Makhachev.
One Makhachev fan also seemed offended and made sure that Volk knew about it.
