On 2024 New Year’s Eve, Conor McGregor announced that he would be making his return to the Octagon on June 29th during International Fight Week. While there is no update on whether that’s official, Dana White has set UFC 303 as the headliner for the week, as per recent reports.

Michael Chandler has been waiting for Conor McGregor to return to action. His desperation for that big-money fight seems to know no bounds as he called out ‘The Notorious’ during a recent episode of Monday Night RAW. But Dana White has been avoiding questions surrounding McGregor’s return date and the latter’s claim about June 29. Despite that, he has carried on with his plans and June 29 seems to have a pay-per-view set.

UFC 303 will take place during International Fight Week

‘MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin broke the news regarding Dana White’s plans for International Fight Week, claiming that UFC 303 will be the headlining pay-per-view on June 29. However, Martin did not mention anything about Conor McGregor, which adds more uncertainty regarding when the Irishman will return. Nevertheless, the Hall of Fame ceremony and the UFC fan experience will also take place during International Fight Week.

“The UFC X fan experience and the UFC Hall of Fame induction will also take place during that week,” Damon Martin added. It remains to be seen if Dana White is trying to surprise fans with a surprise Conor McGregor announcement or if we will have to wait for some more time before witnessing the former double champion in action. Nevertheless, had already mentioned that the choice to return is in the hands of the Irishman.

It’s McGregor’s decision whether he wants to come back or not

During the UFC 298 press conference, it was not unexpected for Dana White to be hit with questions about Conor McGregor. He decided to give what seemed to be an honest take on the Irishman’s situation. First of all, White reminded the media and the fans that McGregor is in a great financial position. He is the richest MMA fighter, after all. So, if ‘The Notorious’ decided to come back, The UFC CEO would be happy to have him.

Meanwhile, McGregor has also been busy with his outside-the-Octagon ventures, including his debut Hollywood movie, ‘Road House‘, which will be released on 21st March. Hence, Dana White argued that the former double champion will actively participate in promotional events for the movie. So, he did not have a specific date to tell the fans regarding McGregor’s return.
