At UFC 266, fans got to witness one of the most memorable title fights in UFC history. The UFC featherweight title clash between Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega was a roller coaster ride filled with exciting moments. The bout ended with ‘The Great’ earning a unanimous decision victory. However, it wasn’t a simple task, as ‘T-City’ wasn’t someone who would bite the dust that easily.

There were a couple of moments where Volkanovski was very close to losing the belt. Throughout the bout, Ortega came close to pulling off a submission victory, thanks to his BJJ prowess. On the other hand, Volkanovski used feints to throw off Ortega’s timing. ‘The Great’ busted up the challenger’s face before nearly slipping into the wrong side of a fight-ending submission in the third round.

After the slip, Volkanovski found himself mounted by ‘T-City,’ who quickly made went for a tight guillotine choke. It appeared that the fight was about to conclude with Ortega coming on top, but the champion wasn’t someone who’d give up easily.
