Charles Oliveira and Dustin Poirier will collide inside the UFC cage for the lightweight gold at UFC 269. The fight will headline the event on December 11. The lightweight combatants will surely create much hype leading up to the fight.

Interestingly, Oliviera has already started with it. Recently, the champion took a dig at Poirier’s grappling skills by sarcastically reacting to a video.

In the video, a man is shown teaching self-defense techniques. A Twitter user, referring to Oliveira’s red zone, wrote,@DustinPoirier Grappling coach showing off how they’re stopping Charles’s ‘red zone.'”

‘Do Bronx’ acknowledged the video and reposted it on his official Twitter account with a witty reply, “Oh no!” in the caption.

The Brazilian fighter will return to the octagon for his first title defense. Meanwhile, ‘The Diamond’ has a second shot at the title in his UFC career. It is one of the biggest opportunities for him. Interestingly, the American-born fighter is backed by his former opponent.

Khabib Nurmagomedov Backs Dustin Poirier for a Win Against Charles Oliveira

‘The Eagle’ and ‘The Diamond’ crossed paths in the past for the lightweight gold strap at UFC 242. It was Poirier’s first shot at the 155 lbs gold. Unfortunately, the Dagestan native outclassed him and submitted him in the third round.

However, as ‘The Diamond’ prepares for his battle against Oliveira, Nurmagomedov is backing him in the fight. In a recent interview with ESPN MMA, the former champion said, “You cannot go to the Charles Oliveira red zone. This guy is a real finisher.”

He added, “He’s very dangerous, and I think if Dustin Poirier takes him to the deep ocean like he told us, I think he’s going to win. But if you rush, I think Charles Oliveira is going to have a chance. My opinion: It’s 60-40 (percent) I think, to Dustin Poirier.”
