Conor McGregor is about to make the biggest comeback of his career against Michael Chandler on June 29th at UFC 303. The former two-division champion had outlined his attempts to return to the foray of UFC as he aims to rebound back after his previous two losses against Dustin Poirier. He has tended to affairs of his personal life during his three-year hiatus from the octagon, including a blossoming Hollywood career. Well, to be honest, McGregor has no reason to try so hard for his comeback. He is already a multi-millionaire, probably the richest MMA fighter in the history of the sport, and a successful entrepreneur. People in the MMA community argue that his hunger for victory has diminished. This talking point gained traction after the Irishman’s partying antics came to light recently. The MMA faithful indicated their unhappiness that McGregor wasn’t concentrating on training with just a month away from his clash.

Michael Chandler, on the other hand, is putting himself through the wringer in the gym for his upcoming clash. The contrast in both fighters’ mentality and actions does put a hamper on the hype and festivities revolving around the fight. In his latest escapade, McGregor was seen having a blast at an after-party, this time with his fiancee Dee Devlin. The video of both of them enjoying the event went viral when the video surfaced on the internet.

But why was McGregor partying again? Well, being the proud owner of Black Forge Inn, in Dublin, Ireland, he was enjoying a late-night party in his bar according to his Instagram handle. The former Lightweight champion took to his Instagram to add a video of the event and captioned it, “The Black Forge Inn does it again! Our late night secret sessions with @marckinchen and @belters_only on the decks! The gaf was rocking and the @properwhiskey and @forgedirishstout was flowing! ENERGY ‼️”

Partying at such a crucial time did not help McGregor’s cause as the MMA community took cognizance of the situation. Some fans made fun of the former champ while others defended him. Let us have a look at what is the mood of the community.

Fans in disbelief as Conor McGregor party instead of training

Conor McGregor has garnered a reputation for throwing grand parties. Moreover, he has caught flak for his relationship with Ebanie Bridges and for being spotted with other women during festivities. Nonetheless, he still spends time with them. A fan asserted that at least this time it was with his fiancee.

“at least it’s his wife this time”

This fan argued that the spotlight is actually on Michael Chandler due to Conor McGregor’s actions as the former should have no excuse to lose because he is training day and night in the gym.

When Ryan Garcia fought Devin Haney this month, he seemed not serious. Garcia took things causally but won his bout against Haney. A fan asserted that McGregor is replicating the boxer’s antics and eventual outcome.

“He’s on that Ryan Garcia fight protocol”

Furthermore, a fan has a dark prediction for the former dual-weight champion.

Jon Jones has always stated that he threw a party every day for a week before each of his fights. He stated that this method has helped him achieve splendid success in his career. His interactions with Daniel Cormier about similar party allegations during their press conferences are still an iconic moment in the history of MMA.  A fan asserted that McGregor is just following the same principle.

“I don’t understand why are we making such a big deal out of this; Jon Jones though not in training camp but did pretty much the same: partied all night before one the biggest fights in his career and still beat DC. (Also, the way Conor looks I wouldn’t be worried; the guy looks”

Last but not the least, a fan seems to have some hope for the former champ.

“Still conor by ko round one”

This is not the first time when Conor McGregor has allowed himself to partake in festivities before a big fight. However, considering the Irishman’s inactivity and questions surrounding his mentality, his recent actions have issued caution to the wind. What’s your take on the situation?
